Teaching Methods

The organization of the curricular unit is a function of the profile of the students who attend it, in each academic year, and must be determined according to the objectives defined by the teachers. This organization determines the weight of each components of the syllabus, in each academic year. The following complementary activities will be developed:

1- Participation in lectures.

2- Master classes.

3- Presentation and discussion of scientific articles/research topics by students.

4- Preparation of a project, with presentation and discussion.

Learning Outcomes

- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the broad range of DDM processes, devices, capabilities, constrains and materials that are available.

- Learn how to create physical objects that satisfy product development requirements, using DDM devices and processes.

- Articulate the various trade-offs that must be made in selecting DDM processes, devices and materials to suit particular product requirements.

- Opportunity to design, engineer and fabricate an actual multi-component object using DDM devices and processes.

- Design and fabrication processes: data sources, software tools, file formats, post-processing, design practices for DDM.
