Teaching Methods

Lectures on physical principles they are based on the techniques and systems of acquisition. Visits to the hospitals, private clinics and research laboratories where demonstrations might occur (with the participation of students) and with techniques and equipment that was subject of study.

Learning Outcomes

To acquire a theoretical and practical training in the area of Instrumentation for Medical Imaging with particular emphasis on physical principles in obtaining the various types of medical imaging, in the principle of operation of instruments and techniques of image acquisition. Integration of basic knowledge to understand and relate the type of information that an imaging technique can provide, the physical principles on which it is based and on the instrumentation they use. Acquiring familiarity with medical imaging technique that do not use ionizing radiation  commonly used. Ability to search and use the bibliography as well as other sources of information relevant to the research or technological development.
