Recommended Prerequisites
Knowledge of the English, French, and Spanish languages at level B1, including the necessary skills to read the recommended and/or relevant bibliography for this course unit.
Teaching Methods
This seminar of theoretical and practical classes will include lectures followed by student debates and the presentation of student assignments to be discussed by the whole class.
Theoretical elements will be introduced using expository, participatory, and interrogative methodologies.
A methodology based on practical exercises, case studies, and the analysis and discussion of scientific articles will be favoured in situations of practical or casuistic application resulting from previous research work conducted by students.

To view the urban area and the city as a territorial element with great potential for the valorisation of tourism supply and demand.
To raise the students’ awareness to the broad scope of the concepts of heritage and culture, analysing tangible and intangible heritages, as well as cultural heritages.
To view patrimonial elements as tourist attractions and products.
To demonstrate the importance of the city as a territorial and heritage brand.
To be able to identify and interpret tourism typologies directly related to the city.
To be able to plan urban itineraries for tourism visits.
To understand the importance of heritage and culture in the management of the city and in the quality of life of the population.
To discuss opinions in a group setting.
