2nd Cycle Studies - Mestrado
Recommended Prerequisites
Basic formation in geosciences that allows to distinguish different structures and geological materials in the field. Knowledge of field geology and cartography techniques.
Teaching Methods
Lectures on the preparation of field activities.
Development of intensive field activities in small groups, applying techniques of positioning and measurement of geological data with description of the compositional and structural characteristics of outcropping units.
Carrying out exercises cartography of processes and geological resources for detailed scales.
Representation and treatment of geographic and directional data with specific software.
Classes to support the preparation of reports and presentations and discussion of the materials created
Learning Outcomes
1. Performing cartography of geological themes autonomously in new contexts for the student
2. Acquisition of skills in analysis and synthesis of field data with geological significance
3. Improvement of representation techniques and adequate transmission of information in the form of thematic maps, reports and summary communications on cartography.
Work Placement(s)
