Recommended Prerequisites

The knowledge acquired during the previous curricular units of the Experimental Pathology Master program.

Teaching Methods

During the internship, the student should be encouraged to develop a scientific work of excellence. For this, the supervisors to help them to pursuit the proposed work program will closely monitor the students. The thesis work also requires a scientific literature search, the lecture and study of scientific articles, under the guidance of the advisor(s).

Learning Outcomes

The student should develop a research project in work environment. This project should be supervised by a mentor within the company hosting the student, who must be accompanied by an internal doctorate co-advisor of Faculty of Medicine, University of Coimbra, with training in the area of Experimental Pathology. The Report should constitute a research work in the work environment with scientific impact in the area of Experimental Pathology. During the accomplishment of the work, the student must acquire in-depth knowledge of the subject and skills that allow him to understand the labor process where is integrated, including the experimental component and data analysis. In the end, the student must have acquired the skills that allow him to start or develop professional work in the field of Experimental Pathology.
