Teaching Methods

The teaching methodologies include a theoretical discussion and the critical analysis and discussion of scientific articles by the students in the classroom. Theoretical training is complemented by fieldwork, maps, and remote sense analysis. A study case will also be analysed, individually or in a group, with the oral and written presentation and discussion of the results.

Learning Outcomes

Understand the evolution, the current state and the potential modifications that may affect the coastal zone.

Analyse and understand the measures that have been taken to solve coastal zone problems. Be able to propose measures of biophysical and socio-economic scope, in accordance with the existing and planned conditions for the coastal zone. These measures must be sustainable and contribute to the well-being of populations and the balanced preservation of the goods installed in this zone.
