Teaching Methods

Content development will include both theoretical and empirical approaches. Lectures will be complemented with the contributions of experts and of students' work outcomes (reports and essays). Practical activities will be supported by diverse materials and observation visits. Case study is a main strategy, which permits a reflexive analysis of programs and practices.

Learning Outcomes

This curricular unit aims to bring awareness of the educational value of the Art, as well as of some main questions of the theoretical ground and of the practices in this field, attending to diverse grounding, aims, agents, publics, contexts and methodologies.

Thus, we define the following general objectives:

- To understand the educational value of Art and its potential to contribute to individual and collective development;

- To know the main perspectives and models in the field of Education and Art;

- To critically analyse some educational programs and practices in this field.
