Recommended Prerequisites

Scientific knowledge defined as learning outcomes of the 1st year’s curriculum.    

Teaching Methods

Tutoring of students throughout the internship and the execution of the internship report.     

Learning Outcomes

The main purpose of this curricular unit is the acquisition of knowledge and skills in real work environments, where the student can interact with the various professionals of the multidisciplinary teams of Occupational Health (OH), giving the student capabilities for the future integration of similar teams.

It encompasses the integration of the student into an Institution, with a protocol established with FMUC (ex: Enterprise / Hospital / other institution) under the guidance of a professor of the UC and a OH professional of the host Institution.

After completing the Course, students will be able to:

-interact and understand the main responsibilities of the various elements of the OH teams.

-understand the ethical issues underlying the different work environments.

-plan activities to evaluate and reduce the main occupational hazards in real work environment.

- prepare and publicly defend a final internship report, following the template established for that purpose.

Syllabus

The program content will be established by the student supervisors, depending on the area and institution where this will take place.

The initial 6 hours are intended to:

-evaluate and set the internship objectives

-describe the partner institution

-establish the model and format of the final report

-establish the methodology of follow-up during the Internship.
