Learning Outcomes

It is intended that the student become familiar with the techniques of location, excavation and recovery of human remains, thereby gaining the necessary skills to participate in forensic anthropology missions in the field, as well as in archaeological excavations with human osteological remains.

History of forensic archeology and field anthropology. General concepts and definitions.

The importance of records in the scene investigation. Basics of Stratigraphy, Topography and Archeothanatology.

Methods of survey, excavation and exhumation.

Preparation of osteological material for laboratory analysis.
