Teaching Methods

The study of the course topics will be conducted by reading of references indicated by the teacher. There will be weekly sessions to answer questions posed by the student related to the subjects read during the prior week.

Learning Outcomes

This course covers the fundamentals of mobile networks. Upon completion of the course the student should have a clear understanding of the working of mobile networks at the physical, protocol stacks and logical levels. Additionally he should have a working knowledge about standardized systems upon which are based data and multimedia communication mobile networks.

1-Introduction. 2-Radio transmission in the presence of mobility: -the mobile channel; -modulations for and in the presence of mobility. 3-Cellular Systems. 4-Media Access Control Techniques 5-Voice and data cellular mobile systems. 6-Wireless Local Neworks. 7-NEMO. 8-New developments.

Assessment
Grading will be based on written exams (50%) and evaluation of essays and presentations (50%) focused on themes related to the course subjects: 100.0%
