Teaching Methods

Seminars with detailed presentation, using audiovisual means, of the concepts, principles and fundamental theories and solving of basic practical exercises to illustrate the practical interest of the subject and exemplify its application to real cases.

Tutorials where the students, supervised by the staff member, solve practical exercises, which require the combination of different theoretical concepts and promote critical reasoning in the presence of more complex problems.

Learning Outcomes

Familiarize the students with the general aspects of the Maintenance Management and Organisation, based on the definition of the maintenance function as well as its main objectives, and going through the organisational and management aspects related to the management service structure, the information circuits, and the planning and control of maintenance, leading to the definition of policies, philosophies and maintenance strategies.

The evaluation consists in a continuous assessment with a weight of 40% (attendance, interest and participation during the classes) and a final exam weighing 60% of the final grade: 100.0%
