Recommended Prerequisites

Knowledge of Mathematical analysis and statistics.

Teaching Methods

The essential theoretical concepts that are approached in the theoretical classes will be presented simultaneously with the resolution of practical problems, as well as the use of equipment and software for processing and extract information from photographs and images. Students will accomplish a project in order to put into practice the knowledge they have acquired.

Learning Outcomes

Students are expected to master methods, technologies and photogrammetry practical techniques for extracting geo-spatial information from images that are obtained by means of optical sensors that are put either on space (aircrafts and satellites) or on the ground. The cases of vertical metrical photographies and the principles of analytic photogrammetry will be especially enhanced. In the end, the main systems of remote detection and the topo-cartographic exploration of high resolution satellite images will be approached in a general way.
