Recommended Prerequisites

Students should have a strong background on Steel structures, Concrete structures and Foundations.

Teaching Methods

Theoretical lectures: Presentation of theoretical concepts, regulatory models and illustrative examples using oral and audio-visual media.

Practical lectures: Autonomous work of students in computer lab with teacher's guidance and discussion of the design project.

Visit to a construction site of a bridge.

Tutorial lessons (22.5 hours) will be to answer questions and to help in the final project.

Learning Outcomes

To provide students with the necessary knowledge to carry out a composite bridge design and detail.

Acquisition of skills in the organization and execution of a complete bridge design.
