Regular classes, following the syllabus, using slides presentations and debate.

Seminars driven by students according to previously assigned themes.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course, the students are capable of

- a critical view on the energy performance characteristics of buildings;

- identifying energy saving opportunities in both in energy and in economic terms;

- interpreting directives and generally legislation and regulations dealing with energy performance of buildings;

Students also acquire a detailed knowledge of regulatory documents both at EU and national levels.

Passive solar technologies -an introduction

European Union directives influencing the energy performance of buildings

National legal instruments for the efficient use of energy in buildings

Building management systems – structure, communications, operational features, interfaces.
