Teaching Methods

The unit works with master classes with theoretical exposure of the subjects listed in the syllabus. Whenever appropriate to clarify the theoretical concepts presented in the theoretical exhibition practical problems will be solved. The results of works carried out by students can be presented and discussed in the classes.

Learning Outcomes

 Upon the successful completion of the course, students should acquire the basic concepts necessary to understand and discuss about the power systems functioning, namely the basics of production, transmission and distribution systems. Should also understand the power flows and be aware of the importance of such studies. Students should also understand what are the main components of electricity prices and the usefulness of adequate price schemes to stimulate and adequate usage of electricity. Students should also dominate the basic concepts of energy management, carry out and understand studies on power factor compensation.
