Recommended Prerequisites

Knowledge of English Language and knowledge of architectural or archaeology design.

Teaching Methods

Theoretical classes on tools and methods: research and documentation, illustration of some geophysical methods (geoelectric, georadar) used in the field and their characterization commensurate with site potential and archaeological demand.

Learning Outcomes

Purpose: to outline the key concepts of archaeological excavation.

Acquisition of competencies in the domains of identifying techniques of datation, archaeological excavation, organization and security in the archaeological site.

This course introduces neede contents to further field work.

Themes: history and methodology; archaeological recognition: concepts, principles, methods; dating and classification methods: large ceramic classes; stratigraphic reconstructions; the planned excavations; geophysics and archeology; construction, security services and protection at the site.
