Recommended Prerequisites

Electric Energy Conversion, Introduction to Electrical Energy Systems.

Teaching Methods

The course unit works with theoretical and theoretical-practical classes.

Theoretical classes are master classes with detailed presentation, using audiovisual means, of the concepts, principles and fundamental theories of the subject

Theoretical-practical classes are intended to solve practical exercises by the students, supervised by the professor. In these classes, it will also be given support to the preparation of a group work, which will consist in preparing a monograph on a previously assigned topic, and which will be presented by students in class.

Learning Outcomes

To know the different electric power generation technologies, including conventional and renewable technologies for both large scale and for distributed generation.

Understand the structure, planning and management of the electric power generation system, as well as aspects related to the large-scale integration of intermittent renewable energy resources.

To be able to evaluate electric power plants from a technical and economic point of view.
