Teaching Methods

The teaching methods will be mainly laboratory guidance, project oriented teaching, involving tutorial classes, supervision and counselling in Engineering Project.

Learning Outcomes

The goal of the UC is to improve student training through the development of engineering project execution skills. It is intended to familiarize itself with the methodology of engineering design, seeking to develop the ability to apply and integrate skills acquired throughout the first cycle of studies. Through differentiated projects, the UC provides an integrative experience of knowledge of engineering theory, principles and processes within a collaborative environment. It is also the objective of the UC to provide some awareness of the knowledge to be developed in the second cycle of studies.

In addition to the intrinsic competencies for the engineering project, the UC aims to develop transversal competences such as teamwork, autonomous learning, critical thinking, organization and systematization of ideas, requirements analysis and solutions and the ability to apply theoretical concepts to practical problems.

Syllabus

Implementation of several laboratory mini-projects, supported by microcontrollers or other devices, that allow students to consolidate knowledge in data acquisition and signal processing, modeling, actuation and control of devices, data communication systems, computer architecture and networks, interface with devices and programming in general.

An integrative project will also be carried out in one of the specialty area in Electrical and Computer Engineering, supervised by one or more teachers, where the development of a group work allows to evaluate knowledge in some of the essential stages of the engineering project: methodological aspects, evaluation of solutions, planning and implementation, operationalization, reporting and presentation of results.
