Knowledge of English Language and knowledge of architectural or archaeology design.

Teaching Methods

Theoretical master classes with the participation of invvited schoolars. Classes of consolidation of the ifnormation and tutoring of the elaboiration of th report through which studants are evaluated.

Learning Outcomes

Preventive Archaeology and Context Analysis is a theoretical subject that aims to outline the key concepts for understanding the excavation context.

The course develops skills on reading and interpreting archaeological sites and landscapes, allowing to antecipate possible archaeological sites, and fulfilling the design of a preventive archaeology.

Syllabus

Introduction to ArcGIS for archeology; preventive archeology; methods of analysis, systemic approach and multidisciplinary; remote sensing in territorial investigations; reading and interpretation of the landscape: operational characteristics and evolutionary dynamics; legibility of historical and archaeological landscapes: permanence systems; types of ancient landscapes and relationships with contemporary landscapes; the rules and the excavation areas.
