Recommended Prerequisites

Instrumental competences: Competence in analysis and synthesis, Competence in oral and written communication, Knowledge of a foreign language (English), Competence in organization and planning, Use of the Internet as a mean of communication and source of information; Personal Competences: Competence in critical thinking, Competence in understanding the language of other specialists; Systemic Competences: Concern about quality, Competence in self-criticism and self-evaluation, Competence in autonomous learning.

Teaching Methods

Different teaching methodologies regarding the communication and explanation of concepts and tool should be explored: oral and written assignments by the students; group discussions; practicam and computational activities.

Learning Outcomes

This course unit corresponds to the frequency of advanced courses offered to PhD students inside or outside the UC needed to complete his/her curricular pathway according to his/her expectations and training needs (defined together with the supervisor and the tutorial commiittee). These advanced courses aim at the in-depth learning of current relevant topics in the area of specialization where the student is developing his thesis or in complementary areas. This implies a confrontation with concepts and methodologies recently developed in the scientific area in question.
