Advanced mathematics, algebra, robotics fundamentals and computer programming.

Structure and Properties of Matter and Mechanical Technology.

Basic knowledge about Operations management and operation research.

Teaching Methods

The organization of the curricular unit is a function of the profile of the students who attend it, in each academic year, and must be determined according to the objectives defined by the teachers. This organization determines the weight of each components of the syllabus, in each academic year. The following complementary activities will be developed:

1- Participation in lectures.

2- Master classes.

3- Presentation and discussion of scientific articles/research topics by students.

4- Preparation of a monograph and/or project, with presentation and discussion in a workshop.

Learning Outcomes

Students should be able to:

• Demonstrate a comprehensive view of the state-of-the art and the main research challenges of the scientific area of Advanced production systems;

• Demonstrate fundamental knowledge about the syllabus of the curricular unit, namely through its application in the critical analysis of scientific works, including those that take place in the DEM research groups in the area of Advanced production systems;

• Demonstrate autonomous learning, synthesis and scientific writing skills, in particular through their application in written reports and manuscripts;

• Demonstrate verbal communication skills, including proactive participation in lectures.
