Recommended Prerequisites

Basic knowledge in Biology (Physiology, Ecology, Cell and Molecular Biology) at a BSc level.

Teaching Methods

Students attend classes and activities with the various partners of the course, taught by professors that collaborate with the different institutions. An interactive education on the practical implementation of concepts and problem solving in places where the various activities taking place is sought here. Teaching will include master classes, practical classes / discussion sessions, with continuous evaluation and mini-tests.

Learning Outcomes

The goal is to introduce Biology-based activities in different contexts, specifically targeted to the community. The student should become familiar with communication and dissemination activities, museology concepts, and continuing education for various types of public. The student should acquire concepts, skills and methodologies to be enable to perform projects in these areas.

Syllabus

Students should acquire knowledge related to:

1- Collection Management. Planning / execution of exhibitions and museum projects.

2- Preparation and organization of communication and dissemination activities in different environments (Natural Parks, Museums, Science Teaching Centers) aimed at different types of audiences, from concept and organization of materials, to monitoring of impact.

3- Creating Biology-based educational activities in non-academic environments, including education for life.

The goal is to cut across several levels, from idea to logistics and management of resources and materials.
