Elective
1st Cycle Studies
Recommended Prerequisites
- Digital Systems Laboratory
- Computer programming
- Electric circuits
- Electronics I.
Teaching Methods
Lecture classes for theoretical presentation of the topics of the syllabus using audiovisual means.
Laboratory classes for presentation and demonstration of the various concepts taught in the theoretical lectures. At the end of the semester, organized into working groups, students design and test a laboratory version of small automatic systems.
Learning Outcomes
The curricular unit aims to provide the student with the necessary knowledge to design and implement automatic systems of medium complexity. This knowledge includes the technologies used in automation systems and the techniques of analysis, design and implementation of these systems.
It is expected that the student will acquire the following competencies:
- Know the characteristics of the main types of industries and understand the requirements of your automation systems.
- Know the characteristics of the programmable controllers and the languages used in their programming.
- Know the main technologies of sensors and actuators used in the implementation of automatic systems.
- Understand the operation of programmable motion control systems, including industrial robots.
