Learning Outcomes

 

To planning and program the research to develop with a view to preparing a Dissertation or a Report on specific themes of integrated urban rehabilitation. During the Investigation Seminar, the student is expected to clearly define the problem (including its framing in the scientific / cultural / social context). To fulfil this objective, the curricular unit promotes the development of lines of thought which makes the link between the syllabus of compulsory and / or optional curricular units, the originality and relevance of the themes, with a view to presenting a research proposal to develop a Master’s Thesis Proposal or Report.

Specific objectives of the c. u. are:

- To assess the multidisciplinary approach and relevance of the theme;

- To encourage critical reflection on the theme and subthemes;

- To strengthening the development of original and independent thinking;

- To explore the methodological tools needed for the development of themes;

- To make an adequate interpreta.

Syllabus

The tutorial guidance allows to frame the research in Integrated Urban Rehabilitation in a historical, methodological and formal perspective through theoretical models and practical examples, consolidating the acquired knowledge with the curricular units of the course. Based on this framework, students define the theme / problem to be developed in the Dissertation and / or in the Project Report. The following questions will also be explored:

a) Interdisciplinarity, originality and relevance in Research.

b) Methodologies and instruments for the elaboration of a Dissertation Project / Project Work.

c) Collection, organisation and presentation of data considered relevant to develop a Dissertation Project / Project Work.

The tutorial guidance promotes the joint discussion of the themes presented by the students from the research lines proposed by the teachers.
