Teaching Methods

Theoretical classes using visual aids with detailed exposition of the concepts, principles and fundamental theories and the resolution of conventional exercises for consolidation of knowledge.

Laboratory weekly classes with experimental works or practical classes related with the topics covered in  the theoretical-practical classes.

Learning Outcomes

Introduce to the students the basic devices and circuits considering the following aspects:

- Understanding the physical mechanisms that govern semiconductor devices;

- Physical-mathematical understanding of basic circuits and devices: (a) operational amplifiers; (2) diodes; (3) bipolar junction transistors (BJTs) and (4) field effect transitors (MOSFETs).

It is intended to provide the student with the skills to:

- Simple nonlinear circuits analysis;

- Design and analysis of small amplifiers and other simple circuits.
