Teaching Methods
Teaching will involve tutorials with Supervisors and selflearning by the student. The percentage of each will vary, but it is expected that students rely more on selfknowledge as time progresses.
Evaluation of a PhD Thesis will be carried out according to University of Coimbra rules.
Learning Outcomes
TThe goal is that the student acquire competencies in terms of:
-Critical reading of scientific papers
-Planning experimental strategies to solve concrete, ambitious and original scientific questions in the field of choice, including the overcoming of constriants (time, financing, etc)
-Critical analysis and presentation of results (both oral and in writing)
-Publication of original papers in credible peer-reviewed international specialized journals in the scientific field chosen (corresponding to the Thesis area specified)
In short: the goal is to train competent and autonomous scientific researchers, ready for professional duties with competencies in Neuroscience and Disease.

NoSyllabus
The syllabus will be specific according to the different Thesis Project topics each student chose. Supervisors and students will, to a large extent, create the syllabus. They will consist mainly of scientific papers used to plan and interpret experiments.
