Recommended Prerequisites

1. Admission to the Professional Training Program, of which the curricular unit is a part, requires the successful completion of all curricular units of the first year of the Master's program in Portuguese as a Foreign and Second Languge (PFL/PSL).

2. Students who are not native speakers of Portuguese are additionally required to exbit proof of having passed the DUPLE exam, atesting C2 level in Portuguese, according to the Commom European Framework of Reference for Languages, less than thee years previous to the date of admission to the Professional Training Program.

Teaching Methods

Syllabus topics are discussed with the aim of solving practical pedagogical problems presented both by students and by instructors, as a result of the activities developed in the context of the Pedagogical Internship

Learning Outcomes

The curricular unit is a part of the Initiation to Professional Training Programe of the Master in Portuguese as a Foreign and Second Languge.

The Seminar is a forum where practical issues arising in the Pedagogical Internship are empirically and theoretically framed and discussed, enabling the maximum benefit from the required activities:

a.         observation of lessons delivered by experienced teachers;

b.         lesson delivery with supervision;

c.         participation in the assessment of students;

d.         lesson planning and instuctional material design.
