Recommended Prerequisites

1. Admission to the Professional Training Programe, of which the curricular unit is a part, requires the successful completion of all curricular units of the first year of the Master's program in Portuguese as a Foreign and Second Languge (PFL/PSL).

2. Students who are not native speakers of Portuguese are additionally required to exbit proof of having passed the DUPLE exam, atesting C2 level in Portuguese, according to the Commom European Framework of Reference for Languages, less than thee years previous to the date of admission to the Professional Training Program.

Teaching Methods

Supervision of practical individual and group work, by an experienced instructor of PFL/PSL.

Supervision of individual research activities for the Report.

Learning Outcomes

The curricular unit is a part of the Initiation to Professional Training Programe of the Master in Portuguese as a Foreign and Second Languge.

 The Pedagogical Internship component involves:

a.         observation of lessons delivered by experienced teachers;

b.         lesson delivery with supervision;

c.         participation in the assessment of students;

d.         lesson planning and instuctional material design.

The Report is expected to reflect the intern's individual experience, and to include two components: (i) the study of a topic with scientific and didactical relevance for the field of PFL/PSL; (ii) a sustained account of the activities developed during the internship pertaining to the choosen topic.

The contents of the syllabus is customized and will be established in each student's Individual Training Plan (ITP), developed in the context of the PFL/PSL Teacher Training Seminar.
