Learning Outcomes

This curricular unit has as main objective to understand how the different infrastructures promote integrated waste management and sustainability. It is also intended to understand the waste hierarchy, with a greater focus on the prevention of waste production. It also promotes the development and application of waste prevention plans with the application of the Circular Economy, presenting several practical examples.

• Waste prevention, reduction and reuse

• How to implement waste prevention programs in order to achieve the new EU goals

• Application of the circular economy in waste prevention, practical examples.

Assessment Methods

Continuous assessment
This unit adopts the continuous assessment model, and the final classification of the trainees is the result of the work developed throughout the course (namely, participation in forums and the performance of evaluation activities). The final classification of each student will be expressed in a scale of 0 - 20 points: 100.0%
