Teaching Methods

Teaching Methodology: The methodology followed in this course follows the UAb's Virtual Pedagogical Model for advanced e-learning formations, on a platform of the consortium between UAb and UC, comprising: (1) individual reading and reflection on (2) sharing of reflection and study among the trainees, (3) clarification of doubts in the forums moderated
by the trainer-mentors, and (4) completion of the proposed activities.
Individual reading and reflection are developed throughout the learning process, enhancing participation in the forums and the successful completion of activities.
Learning is structured in Topics. In each Topic will be created a forum moderated by the teacher, allowing the permanent interaction between trainees and with the teacher.

Learning Outcomes

Objectives of the curricular unit:

This course unit introduces the fundamental concepts, tools and variables in land-use management that can be used in managing for sustainability. It also aims to show that land-use management and environment are complementary and should act simultaneously as joint actions, not interchangeable and even less antagonistic or conflicting.

Competencies to be developed by the student:

- Capacity to know the main concepts, methodologies and techniques associated with land use management and planning;

- Capacity to identify and integrate the different land use planning tools, giving special attention to land use management and environment integration.

Assessment Methods

Continuous assessment
This course unit adopts the continuous assessment model, and the final classification of the trainees is the result of the work developed throughout the course (namely, participation in the forums and the performance of evaluation activities). The final classification of each student will be expressed in a scale of 0 - 20 points: 100.0%
