Learning Outcomes

The aims of this course is to address the main concepts and main policies, from a management for sustainability to the main tools of environmental management. It is expected that the student, upon completing this curricular unit, will be able to: 1. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of specific theories of concepts, principles and policies of integrated environmental management; 2. Explain, differentiate and apply different environmental management tools 3. Interpret and critically analyze legislation related to Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). 4. Understand the all EIA process and its limitations. 5. To know how the involvement of different stakeholders and public participation in an EIA process takes place. 6. Know how to elaborate the types of products that can result from an EIA. 7. Interpret and analyze critically the legislation related to Strategic Environmental Assessment. 8. Have the integrative vision of all these tools.

Assessment Methods

Continuous assessment
This unit adopts the continuous assessment model, and the final classification of the trainees is the result of the work developed throughout the course (namely, participation in forums and the performance of evaluation activities). The final classification of each student will be expressed in a scale of 0 - 20 points: 100.0%
