Teaching Methods

The online course draws maily on an active method of teaching and learning, providing students with relevant linguistic input and with language production opportunities, both oral and written, with corrective feedback. When presenting gramatical topics, the expository method will also be used.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course, the student should be able to:

(i) use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes;

(ii) follow a wide range of themes, to read and to understand long and demanding texts, recognizing implicit meaning;

(iii) express ideas fluently and spontaneously without major hesitations in oral interaction;

(iv) produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects;

(v) express him/herself, in writing, in an organized and coherent manner, showing controlled use of organizational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices.
