Recommended Prerequisites

The knowledge acquired in a master program in Mathematics or after taking a significant part of a curricular year of a PhD program in Mathematics.

Teaching Methods

A project topic and a precise list of bibliographic items will be given, considering the necessary knowledge of the student for the preparation of a future dissertation in Mathematics. The work will consist of reading and studying, under the guidance of the project adviser.

Learning Outcomes

The main goal is preparing and training the knowledge for a future thesis, under the supervision of a faculty member.

The project course aims at developing the following skills: knowledge of mathematical results; ability to formulate and solve problems; ability to communicate well and clearly, in speaking and writing. On the personal level it also allows to develop self-learning, research and communication skills.
