Teaching Methods

Presentation of the themes promoting debate (student-student and student-teacher).

Solving (by students, individually or in small groups, or by the teacher) of cases that illustrate the practical relevance of the themes and different decision aiding strategies.

Role-playing.

The presentation of the themes and the study of cases emphasize the motivation of the students for studying the themes being addressed, by using concrete examples (from newspapers, from employment opportunity ads). When opportune, the related research activities of the teacher are mentioned.

1. Provide an introduction to concepts in Health Technologies.
2. To analyze the instruments to develop and deepen the analysis capabilities in Health Technologies.
3. Provide critical analysis on this issue.

1. The rules and regulation of health technologies.
2. Hierarchy of the robustness of the nature of the proof of cause / effect relationships according to the methodologies available .
3. Benefit , risk and the nature of the benefit / risk ratio . The efficacy, safety, effectiveness and usefulness.
4. Economic Quantification of the identified therapeutic advantage.
5. Modeling face the uncertainty of cost / effectiveness and cost / utility identified.
6. The process of financing decision and use in different venues, given the information produced by the economic evaluation.
