Teaching Methods

Theoretical classes with detailed presentation, using audio-visual means, of the concepts, principles and fundamental theories. Development of the concepts by presenting case studies that illustrate its application to real situations.

Theoretical-practical classes where the students, supervised by the staff member, solve practical exercises, which require the combination of different theoretical concepts and promote critical reasoning in the presence of more complex problems.

Learning Outcomes

It is intended that students first acquire a basic training in the following subjects: information theory, communication channels and lossless source coding. These topics will serve as a foundation for the development of deep and diverse expertise in the channel coding field which is an important area in the design of all modern data transmission and storage systems.
