Power Systems Introduction
Theoretical classes with detailed exposition of fundamental concepts, principles and theories, using audiovisual means.
Laboratory classes with practical work and case study analysis with further interpretation and discussion of results.
Students should be able to identify and assess the impact of implementing energy consumption rationalization measures on various end uses of energy, as well as being able to characterize energy consumption using instrumentation and / or data collection methods.
Introduction to efficient use of electricity;
Types of electrical loads;
Efficient use of energy in lighting;
Efficient use of energy in air conditioning;
Efficient use of energy in eletric motors and drives;
Efficient use of energy in other end uses;
Energy management and monitoring systems.
