Teaching Methods

Teaching methodology: Seminars alternating with theoretical and practical classes.
Evaluation: Preferably, continuous assessment through presentation and discussion of papers, or, alternatively, a final written exam.

Learning Outcomes

To complement studies units from Public Finance I (compulsory) and Public Finance II (optional), both from the 1st Cycle.
While the studies units of the 1st Cycle favour the central government finances, the study unit from the 2nd Cycle will focus on European, regional and local finances. The aim is thus to acquire skills for understanding the evolution, functions and linkages between the various levels of public financial decisions at European, national, regional and local levels.

a) The financial system of the European Union; 

b) The general budget,

c) Implementing and monitoring the budget;

d) Evolution perspectives. 

II. PUBLIC REGIONAL AND LOCAL FINANCES:

a) Local government finances;

b) Autonomous regions finances.
