Teaching methods balance classes more suitable to the expository method and classes that enable students to apply knowledge and skills in order to solve practical problems.

Learning Outcomes

1. Trace the main steps in the design of public policy interventions

2. Illustrate through specific examples the most frequent market failures;

3. Illustrate through specific examples the most frequent government failures;

4. Discuss and explain the major political, economic and administrative obstacles involved in implementing public policy programs;

5. Analyse and evaluate costs and benefits entailed in the adoption of public policy programmes to solve specific problems.
