Teaching Methods

In theoretical lectures the concepts associated to the unit subjects are presented, using the available audio visual medias. Some lectures will consists in seminars provided by invited speakers.

In practical lectures the students will analyze and discuss case studies which illustrate the several steps required from the idea generation to the creation of a new business venture. The students will be invited to develop a set of three small working projects. During the lectures the students will present the result of their work and a discussion among the students will be conducted by the teacher.

Learning Outcomes

The aim of this curricular unit is for students to acquire knowledge and abilities within the area of entrepreneurship, with particular focus on idea feasibility analysis and business planning. After the course the students should be able to: (1) account for, compare and take position on different theoretical perspective on entrepreneurship; (2) distinguish different types of entrepreneurship; (3) understand the process of recognizing opportunities and generating ideas; (4) be able to collect and analyse information needed to do a feasibility analysis and write a draft business plan.
