Teaching Methods

Theoretical classes

Presentation of the concepts related to the topics presented in section 3.5. This process takes place with aid of audio-visual media (slideshow and video).

In practical classes are discussed and solved problems related to the topics covered in lectures (practical problems). In addition, students are invited to perform and presented the following work: programming of Programmable Logic Controllers in an industrial cell.

Learning Outcomes

The Industrial Control subject is presented in an Industrial Automation perspective. The goal of this subject is to introduce design and analysis of industrial control systems, in a practical way. It is proposed practical assignments about the industrial problems, namely by using Programmable Logic Controllers. After this course, it is intended that students are able to start an industrial activity in this field, establish dialogue with experts, and operate and maintain industrial automatic equipment.
