Recommended Prerequisites

Previous knowledge of mathematics, physics, numerical methods and construction materials.

Teaching Methods

Teaching of theoretical concepts and general knowledge concerning the issues set forth in the syllabus, including case studies and practical application of problem solving. During the course, students are able to observe some of the relevant laboratory presented in class. The evaluation includes a theoretical and a practical component. The evaluation is performed through a theoretical-practical test (valued 14), supplemented with and by the resolution of practical problems in the classroom (valued 6).

Learning Outcomes

The main objective is to provide the students with knowledge in the fields of higrothermal behavior, fire safety and acoustic behavior of buildings. The student learns theoretical concepts and contacts with current regulations in those fields.

The student should acquire capabilities in synthesis and analysis, oral and written communication, problems solving, critic reflection, autonomous learning, practical application of theoretical knowledge.
