Teaching Methods

The methodology is based on students’ active learning, namely through the appropriation of content and support resources available for studying the subjects, and on carrying out the various activities.
Pedagogical techniques are foreseen: Transmissive work: exposure of information in multimedia support; Independent individual work: reading; analysis and processing of information; Group work: discussion and analysis of practical cases; Demonstrative work: demonstrations of video-class procedures in the context of elderly care.
The course is based on two types of assessment: Formative – self-assessment of knowledge; Summative – ongoing activities in each module.
A recovery period is provided for Test typology activities that the student has not completed (has obtained a negative rating or has not performed within the normal period).
Approval in the course depends on obtaining a minimum of 10 marks, on a scale of 0-20.

Learning Outcomes

The course aims to provide knowledge about the biology and the aging process, both at the individual level and at the level of the elderly person's integration into society, or at the level of health care, namely with regard to diseases related to the aging process. This course intersects knowledge articulated directly with the medical area, the caregiver area, and the area of support technologies available in the context of active and healthy aging.
