1st Cycle Studies
Recommended Prerequisites
Prior attendance of a laboratorial course.
Teaching Methods
Students prepare each practical class based on theoretical information (TP classes), protocol, and included bibliography. Students work in groups of 2-4 autonomously, but supervised. The results are recorded in the laboratory notebook, analyzed, interpreted and discussed critically.
Learning Outcomes
The course is designed for acquisition of skills and attitudes needed for the work in a research or biochemical analysis laboratory. The course aims at the understanding and implementation by the students of technical and laboratory processes and their use in biochemistry, in a rigorous, precise, and productive way.
Work Placement(s)
NoSyllabus
Performance of Analytical Biochemistry work using the main techniques and methods of this area. It will be considered a set of works involving: a. spectroscopic methods (eg UV/visible absorption spectrophotometry); b. methods of isolation and separation (eg, partition chromatography), c. quantification techniques (eg volumetry).
