Methods of expository and heuristic teaching, depending on the contents to be taught.
Students should consolidate or acquire fundamental Mathematics concepts usually taught in Basic and Secondary levels of the Portuguese programs.
This curricular unit must create numerical and abstract skills and abilities that enable the students to follow with success high-level science graduations and develop critical reasoning, autonomous or group work, and adaptability to new situations, in order to facilitate their learning in a future academic course
Numerical expressions involving rational and irrational operations;
Equations and inequations of the 1st and 2nd grades;
Real functions of real variable: trigonometric functions and their inverse; rational and irrational functions and their inverse; logarithmic functions and their inverse; limits, derivatives and their applications.
Geometry in plane and space: straight lines, planes, conics and quadrics
