Teaching Methods
At the very beginning of the academic year, the research/working topics will be indicated and respective supervisor(s) appointed to each student. The work will be developed over the academic year under supervision of the aforementioned lecturer(s).
Students are meant to give two 15min oral presentations of their work, one in each academic semester, for an audience consisting of peers and the MSc academic staff. Each presentation is followed by a discussion with the audience that may include suggestions for future developments.
Learning Outcomes
The aim of the course is to develop a final written document as dissertation. The course aims to develop:
- Capabilities to make an analysis of the state of the art in the specific field of the work;
- Justified selection of tools and methodologies to be used;
- Analysis of the requirements related to the topic to be developed;
- Detailed specifications of the system to be used/implemented/developed and/or work to be performed including specific objectives and scheduling;
- Initiation in basic and/or applied research;
- Capabilities of rigorous and clear written and oral expression;
- Self-learning skills.
