Teaching Methods

Theoretical and practical classes. Classes balance a theoretical and practical dimension: as far as the theoretical dimension is concerned, they will promote the extensive lecture of the syllabus; as far as the practical dimension is concerned, they will stimulate students to discover the historical roots of current juridical figures and to understand the reasons that justify their current regulations.

Learning Outcomes

- A good grasp of the legal and historical matrices that Portuguese Law and Brazilian Law have in common

- Knowledge of the sources of Law, the doctrinal trends and the transformations undergone in both legal systems by their legal and public institutions

- Students should be able to compare the historical roots of both Portuguese and Brazilian Law and, from then, to understand the current juridical figures.
