Recommended Prerequisites

Knowledge of Mineralogy, Petrology, Environmental Geology, Stratigraphy and Structural Geology.

Teaching Methods

- Field work to recognize the geology of the study area and collection of samples;

- Laboratorial work to prepare the samples and acquisition of analytical data.

- The following work will be developed by each student under the supervision of teacher.

Learning Outcomes

Each student should carry out according to one domain of specialization in geology sedimentology/ stratigraphy, structural geology, hydrogeology, geotechnics/engineering geology, geological resources, environmental geology, among others): a) field work; b) sampling; c) petrographic study; d) get some analytical data; e) interpret the results comparing with data available in bibliography; f) establish comparisons among other data available from other areas/ages, reaching new conclusions.
