Teaching Methods
Students will choose a research topic subject to the approval of their professor, who will provide guidance and advice.. Students are given practical advice on the research process and a suggested bibliography for their choses research topic. The final report and its grade will be discussed and reviewed with the student.
Learning Outcomes
Students will learn to reflect critically on the validity of knowledge in the conceptualization of geographical and land use planning practices.
Students will learn to apply language and concepts to research in the areas of geography and land use planning.
Understand the connection between the evolution of geographical practices and the production of knowledge today.
Gain organizational and research skills related to the chosen research topic.
Perform a critical analysis of working hypotheses as well as the validity of the conclusions drawn.
Gain skills in research, collection, organization, processing and graphical and cartographic representation of data.
Perform critical analyses of results, perform syntheses and transform research into a coherent report.
