Reading and hearing texts, doing different kinds of exercises.

Writing texts, individual correction by a teacher and rewriting.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course, students should be able to:

- understand simple texts about familiar subjects

- locate specific information in different text types

- write simple and coherent texts on subjects of their interest

- describe events, express feelings and wishes, for example in personal letters

- understand and use the grammatical structures needed for the above aims

- understand and use vocabulary related to the topics of the course

Language structure and use: forms of address; verb conjugation; use of tenses and modes; verb and sentence structure; use of articles; use of prepositions, pronouns; use of conjunctions and other connectives; aspects of spelling and punctuation.

Course topics: Personal and biographical data; Everyday life; Contacts; Getting to Know Portugal.

Text types: advertisement, letter, song, CV, e-mail, interview, newspaper article, information text
