Recommended Prerequisites
General Geology; Structural Geology; Geological Mapping I.
Teaching Methods
Theoretical classes with detailed explanation, using multimedia resources, of concepts, basic principles, models and fundamental theories for understanding and interpreted the architecture of the Earth's crust. Analysis of situations that illustrate reference cases. Strong focus on observation and interpretation capacity at various scales.
Theoretical/practical classes where the students contact with techniques of tectono-structural analysis, analysis and interpretation of geological maps and analysis and interpretation of geological models.
Field classes for structural/tectonic observation.
Learning Outcomes
Initiation into characterization, understanding and interpretation of major geological structures.
Foundation and development of capacity for analysis of the architecture of the Earth's crust in a regional and local scale.
Chronology of the Earth's major crustal deformation stages.
